Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea

A couple of week's ago I enjoyed Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea, at Sanderson Hotel in Soho, London. This was my second time experiencing their Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea, the first was a couple of years ago with my friends from home, who were visiting for the weekend. Fast forward almost two years, and Sanderson have updated their menu, and I'm back with my blogging gals for Gemma's hen do!

With new and improved savoury and sweet delicacies, I was excited to dig into everything with the girls. We also enjoyed a glass of champagne, to wash it all down with, plus tea of course! Sanderson offer a range of different flavoured teas, all with a Mad Hatter theme. You're able to smell the aromas of each tea before choosing which you'd prefer, and they're served in gorgeous King and Queen teapots, complete with crown on top!

The menu features a range of different treats served on beautiful three tier cake stands. Savoury nibbles include smoked salmon scotch quails egg, ham & parmesan croque-monsieur, Cornish crab rolls and cucumber & cream cheese sandwiches.Sweets include rose & strawberry jammy dodgers, chocolate gateau, lemon curd financier, vanilla macaroon, marshmallows and meringues. Plus a cinnamon, apple and peach 'Drink Me' potion, and warm scones served with Cornish clotted cream and jam.

It's not an easy feat trying to squeeze everything in, and I was conscious not to overdo it, so that I could fit in the scones (my favourite part). But there's no need to worry because at Sanderson you can take home anything you don't manage to finish in a cute takeaway box.

Price

At £48 (or £58 with a glass of champagne), makes the Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea not the cheapest afternoon tea in London. However, it is a truly magical experience. The themed afternoon tea is crafted to perfection, and the setting is beautiful!
