London Point A Hotel Review
This time last week, Stew and I enjoyed a little date night in the city, spending a night at Point A Hotels in Liverpool Street.Point A Hotels are a series of budget hotels dotted all over London, and now expanding further afield, with them just opening one in Edinburgh. They’re very well priced, with rooms starting from just £75 to stay in the heart of the capital. But you would never guess they were so cheap from their interior and exterior.Their Liverpool Street hotel has been beautifully renovated with plush furnishings throughout the lobby and café. The entrance is light and airy and the café offers a wonderful continental breakfast at an additional cost. Although there’s no hot food, they’ve excelled themselves with options like – yogurt and compote, cereal and granola, dried fruit and nuts, sweet and savoury pastries, hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit. In addition, there’s a selection of juices to choose from and they serve fresh coffee any way you like it.Along the one edge of the café is a bi-folding door, leading out to a courtyard terrace, complete with more seating and strewn with fairy lights in the evening. Unfortunately, when we stayed it was pouring with rain, so we were unable to take advantage of this space, but it’s so rare to find this in central London. I imagine it’s a great addition to the hotel during sunnier times. The rooms are compact but again, the interior décor is second to none. Although it’s compact, it doesn’t feel too small, because each room has been perfectly planned so that all the essentials fit snugly. The bed itself is large and very comfortable. The rooms are high-tech with touch pads by the door and either side of the bed, that control the lighting and heating. There’s also mood lighting around the room which you can change the colour of – and have hours of fun with! There’s a TV in each room, and the hotel has partnered with many local businesses in the area, to offer discounts to their guests. For example, you can enjoy a free round of drinks at Hawksmoor with a meal, or a free bottle of wine at Carluccio’s when you order 2 or more main courses. Guests that sign up on-line for the A List can benefit from these deals as well as receiving 10% off their booking! Something to take advantage of if you’re planning a weekend away in London. Or equally, if you’re enjoying a staycation like ourselves.Point A Hotels Liverpool Street are located a short walk from Liverpool Street Station, just off the main road, meaning the hotel is very peaceful. It’s a lovely area to explore on foot, as it’s steeped in history and is a stone’s throw from Shoreditch and the City of London. It’s also a great location if you want to enjoy a fancy dinner at Sushi Samba or Duck & Waffle. You’ll be hard pushed to find a more reasonably priced hotel in such a fantastic area.Point A Hotels Liverpool Street - 13-15 Folgate Street, London E1 6BX*Gifted stay
