Afternoon Tea at Sketch, Mayfair

Afternoon tea at SketchLast year I enjoyed afternoon tea with a friend at Sketch, London, and thought I would blog about our experience as it was a lovely treat and perfect for a spring weekend.Sketch is renowned for its beautiful interiors. Each room is themed and we booked a table in their 'Gallery', otherwise known as the heavenly pink room! The Gallery is beautiful, in every sense of the word. It's really a showstopper! I would highly recommend going here purely for the room itself. The art deco tiled floors, sumptuous pink seating and copper plated bar, are dressed with over 200 art works from British designer David Shrigley.Once seated, we were well looked after by our lovely waitress. She was attentive to our needs and explained the menu in great detail. She also recommended two teas for us to try, which were served in quirky china. The food was small but perfectly formed. The attention to detail was exquisite and you are offered unlimited refills on sandwiches - however this is really not necessary as each mouthful is decadent, rich and very filling.Afternoon tea LondonSketch LondonAround special times of the year the menu will differ slightly, but for the most part you can expect to eat something similar to the above. As well as a range of sandwiches and desserts, you also receive scones in a choice of flavours and a side dish of meringues.Afternoon tea, Sketch LondonLondon afternoon teaPrice: Β£58 - With no champagne, it's pricey!Top tip: Be sure to use the toilet before you leave, and get a selfie!Verdict: 4/5
