Review: Simba Hybrid Duvet

We’ve been fans of Simba for many years, having invested in their Simba Mattresses for both our bed and our guest room. My partner and I sleep in different ways - he takes longer to get to sleep, whilst I fall asleep instantly. He tends to fidget more, whilst I rarely move. The Simba mattress was the first we found that catered to both of our comfort needs, and created a space where we both slept soundly without waking each other.

We have the Hybrid Mattress which incoporates innovative springs that help relieve pressure and align with the body, whilst an extra layer of foam adds a cushioned comfort. The foam base features 9 supportive zones designed to mirror our body, especially around the hips and shoulders. I believe all of this combined, have helped us both sleep better and not disturb each other.

Review: Simba Hybrid Duvet

When Simba asked if I’d like to review their Hybrid Duvet, I jumped at the chance to see whether combining both mattress and duvet, would create an even better nights sleep.

Choosing the size

We have a king-size bed but decided to invest in a super-king duvet, as we have often felt that a king-size was a little on the small side, causing us to fight over the duvet in the middle of the night. However, the super-king spreads evenly across the bed, with plenty of extra each side for us both to wrap ourselves up and not wake the other.

It doesn’t look too big either or drag on the floor. Instead, it fits comfortably on all sides.

Comfort

As I expected from our experience with the Simba mattress, the Hybrid Duvet is just as comfortable. It has a luxurious feel, but doesn’t use traditional duck feathers, which we wanted to avoid. Instead, they have created their own down-like Simba Renew Bio™ material, designed for a lightweight warmth. The fibres are breathable and with a 10.5 tog, it means it can be used all year-round.

The square stitching helps to prevent the filling from moving around and ensures the duvet has an even coverage at all times. It’s also machine washable, making it super convenient for a family, who frequently have babies and toddlers visiting them in the middle of the night.

Favourite Features

For us the major selling points of this duvet, are the fact it doesn’t use traditional down, that it’s machine washable, and that it can be used all year-round.
