AD | Aptamil Profutura Follow On Milk
We started feeding our son Aptamil Profutura Follow On Milk about a month ago, when our little boy turned 8 months old. Inspired by 40 years of breastmilk research, Aptamil Profutura Follow On Milk is their most advanced follow on milk formulation*.
Why We Chose Aptamil Profutura Follow On Milk
Feeding time has always been a special part of the day for us as a family. Especially morning and bedtime feeds. Each morning we look forward to walking into Caleb’s nursery and watch him look up at us and smile. This is followed by us making up a feed and him quietly feeding in our arms. Bedtime is even more special, as he will often become very sleepy, or even fall asleep during his last feed of the day. The sleepy haze after a feed is so precious. Now that Caleb is crawling and climbing, it’s one of the rare times that we’re able to sit and cuddle.
Tailored for babies aged 6-12 months, Aptamil Profutura 2 Follow On Milk is the only follow on milk in the UK with GOS/FOS (a blend of Galacto- and Fructo-oligosaccharides) & 2’FL (2'Fucosyllactose)**. It also contains iron to support normal cognitive development, and is a source of calcium and vitamin A, C and D.
Based on this and that it’s tailored to complement a weaning diet, we felt that Aptamil Profutura was the right choice for his feeds.
How We Trialled Feeding From a Beaker
More recently we’ve found Caleb’s become very independent, not just in his movements but also in his feeds. Whether it’s liquids or solids, he likes to be in control and feed himself. With that in mind, at the same time as moving on to Aptamil Profutura, we took the opportunity to trial feeding from a beaker.
Children should be able to use a beaker from around 12 months onwards. We chose a non-valve beaker, as it’s important for babies to sip rather than suck as they grow older. We also chose one with handles as it helped Caleb be able to grasp the beaker with both hands and happily feed himself.
On-the-Go Bottles
Aptamil Profutura Follow On Milk is available in both powder and liquid form. We’ve found the 200ml bottles so convenient for when we’re out for the day. Simply shake the bottle well, open it and pour it into a beaker - they’re fantastic! When my Mum tells me stories of how she would have to prepare formula milk 30+ years ago, I can’t believe how lucky we are to have these options available.
They fit perfectly into our changing bag, and we can take as many as we can carry, in case we need more than expected.
Recyclable Packaging
Another selling point for me is that Aptamil Profutura uses recyclable packaging. I’m aware of waste and recycling more than ever now that we have a baby. What with nappies, wipes and formula milk, it’s important for us that we are doing what we can to reduce waste.
