Fantastic Services End of Tenancy Clean Review
As with most moves, an end of tenancy clean is either required, or a good idea to do, before moving out of a rental. Our contracted stated that it wasn't required, but it was preferred. We did toy with the idea of cleaning it ourselves, as it's a relatively small one bedroom flat. However, when we broke it down, it still amounted to a lot of time and effort, and it would be very disheartening if our landlord still decided to keep some deposit money back.
So instead I set about looking for a company who could offer a professional clean. Fantastic Services was the company I landed on. You may have heard of them, as they not only offer cleaning services, but also gardening, tradesmen, removals, pest control and more! It's a one stop shop of every kind of service you might need. You simply type in your postcode, what type of service you're looking for and it will give you prices, plus quick and easy ways of getting it booked in. It makes tasks that you might otherwise put off, super easy to arrange.
In terms of the end of tenancy clean, Fantastic Services sent a team of insured and fully equipped cleaning technicians to our flat, the day before we were due to move out. We specified the date and time, and were told they would stay for as many hours as it needed. The cleaners followed a comprehensive checklist, using professional products that aren't available on the highstreet, and managed to get our flat looking almost brand new! Our flat was in no way terrible, as we've kept on top of cleaning it weekly. But it was those annoying jobs, such as cleaning the oven and wiping the walls and windows, where they looked a little discoloured (our flat is very old and completely white, so every little speck of dirt shows easily), that we had put off, that Fantastic Services were able to do in no time at all.
The oven was incredible. They offer a deep oven valeting service, and honestly it came out looking brand new! There was so much grease on the oven door, that I'm ashamed to say we could barely see through it, and no amount of bleach was able to get it off, but the cleaning technicians managed it without breaking a sweat.Prices start from £132 for a 1 bedroom flat, or £172 if you require a deep carpet clean. Luckily we don't have carpets, only wooden flooring throughout, but this a great option if you do have carpets. They also offer a 72 hour guarantee, to ensure you get your deposit back. So if the landlord isn't happy, they will offer to re-clean the property free of charge.
Equally if you're a landlord booking the clean, they'll make your life as easy as possible and can arrange to pick up keys from somewhere near the address, if you don't live at the property. All you have to do before they arrive, is empty the property of all personal belongings. Furniture can stay, if it's staying with the property, but all cupboards should be empty to allow the cleaners to clean from top to bottom.
