Travel | Night Noodle Markets, Sydney
For the past couple of weeks Sydney's Hyde Park has been home to the annual Night Noodle Markets. Stew and I popped along last Monday, and it was so good I went back a second time with friends on Thursday!
The most unusual dish we tasted was the markets famous rice and ramen burgers. The buns are made out of rice and noodle and inside is your regular beef or chicken burger. Such a strange combo but I love trying one off things like this. The rice one worked a lot better, the rice stayed stuck together. Whereas the noodles fell apart straight away but the noodle one had the better flavour so it's a tie. Thank god I have Stew and we can share food! Get to try a bit of everything :)
We picked a good day to go last Monday because the weather had been cloudy and miserable so it was pretty quiet. Meaning we could actually try a bit of everything and relax in the many beautifully decorated beer gardens.
There was so many amazing food stalls to try we gave it our best shot and tried lots of different Asian delicacies. Wonderbao from Melbourne was one of my faves. We tried their pork belly and twice cooked pork gua baos. So tasty!
Not only was there food and drink but also ping pong, music and Messina ice-cream (only the best ice-cream in Australia/the world). Unfortunately the queue was over half an hour for that so we missed out but it looked incredible.
Instead for dessert we tried this mini pile of mini pancakes with cinnamon sugar and butter. Yum!
