Travel | Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne
A couple of weeks ago Stew and I spent our Sunday afternoon strolling around the Queen Victoria market in the centre of Melbourne. The market sells everything from locally produced fruit and veg, a variety of cheeses, olives from all over the world and Australian made wines.
There's also a few food stalls serving up delights from South America, The Philippines, India and many other fantastic countries. We couldn't help but eat a bit of everything and started with fresh mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce. Then we stopped at Hoy Pinoy for a tasty pork kebab in a banana glaze, before ending up with a butter chicken curry and roti. Topped off with a glass of fresh lemonade!
We stocked up on plenty of fruit and veg too as it was so much cheaper than the supermarkets. Especially near the end of the day when everything got halved. I wish there was a good market like this near my parents back in the UK. I'd love to be able to buy fresh fruit and veg every week like this.
