H&M Store Opening, Melbourne

Last week saw pandemonium break out in the city of Melbourne. H&M has arrived in Australia and it seemed every Melbournian if not Australian had been looking forward to the day. It is the very first H&M store to open in Australia and a very big deal for Melbourne. The event itself could be one of the biggest Melbourne has seen and certainly the biggest I've ever been invited too.

On arrival I instantly felt underdressed, having rushed straight from work, upon seeing the red carpet and paparazzi entrance! There were hundreds of people lining the street too to get a glimpse at any celebrity face attending the event. I did spot a couple of cast members from Neighbours inside ;)

Inside the grand entrance opened up into a beautiful building. Covering two floors the marble staircases, glass escalators and mannequins suspended from trees were very impressive. It's definitely the largest and most lavish H&M I've ever shopped in.

After the champagne arrival there were cocktails with edible flowers and canapes galore! The clothing itself looked amazing and the prices have been matched to those in the UK meaning it's very very reasonable for Australia. There was also the addition of homewares which I haven't seen in a H&M before and as if it couldn't get any better Haim were there doing a DJ set!!

They really did pull out all the stops for this store opening. I only wish more had been explained on the invite so that I could have dressed for the occasion and brought Stew along to take advantage of the evenings VIP 20% off!
