Travel | Misschu Vietnamese Tuckshop, Melbourne
Misschu, 276 Toorak Road, South Yarra, Melbourne
Misschu is literally a 2 minute walk from our building. Stew stumbled across it last week and thought it looked fun so we made a plan to go there for lunch when we were next free.
Misschu certainly brings authentic Vietnamese food to South Yarra. With it's tuckshop style entrance, the restaurant continues in a long corridor with stools and tables dotted underneath ceramic bowl lighting. The food is served quickly, costs next to nothing and tastes delicious! Stew, having travelled Vietnam, can vouch that Misschu's menu encapsulates the tastes of Hanoi, a gem hidden just off bustling Chapel Street.
We chose a couple of dishes off their varied menu, and we'll definitely be going back again as there's just so much to try! We started with the Shanghai Pork Dumplings which come as 3 but we paid $1.75 extra for a fourth, followed by Prawn and Crab Spring Rolls and Lemongrass Beef Salad. When we next go I think we'll try either the chicken satay salad but this time with rice and greens, or one of Misschu's curries.
The total bill, including an iced coffee and sparkling juice, came to just $37.75 which is roughly Β£20. So Β£10 each for all that food, plus a drink and a lovely ambient atmosphere. Not bad for quick lunchtime treat :)
