Travel | Botanical Gardens, Melbourne

Last weekend I attended Laneway Festival and saw artists such as Jamie XX and Chvrches! It was in a suburb of Melbourne called Footscray and was a great day out. I tried my very first Sailor Jerry's and ginger beer (which tasted amazing) and ate so much good food. It was a really hot day in the city though and so on Sunday we were shattered and headed to the Botanical Gardens for a relaxing afternoon.

I love botanical gardens, having visited a lovely one in Sydney last year, Melbourne's just beat it! Melbourne's gardens are big with a gorgeous lake in the middle and back on to more green areas and parks leading to the city creating a huge area to walk or cycle.

We spent the afternoon reading and eating fruit on a blanket in the shade. These gardens are only a 15-20 minute walk from our apartment so we'll definitely be making the most of it. And if you're heading to Melbourne any time soon for a trip I'd recommend a visit :)
